Anybody Want a Dog?

Hello friends,

Just earlier this week we found out that we are not going to be able to take Sputnik with us to Moscow.  Beth and I have been pretty sad about it, but also stressed out because we are (fingers crossed) supposed to be flying out on April 13th.  If you or anyone you know wants a dog, let us know!

Sputnik is probably one of the coolest dogs out there.  I really didn't think I'd like a dog as much as I do Sputnik.  He's very friendly, very playful, and needs people.  He's up-to-date on his shots and is neutered.

Isn't he the coolest?

Catching Up -- Snow in Richmond!

Things have been quite crazy here-- we're finally posting things we wanted to weeks ago.

Remember that winter snowstorm that swept up the Eastern seaboard?  We got some here too:

Of course, like a kid we took to the hills with whatever sled-like object we could find.  Many failed, few were actually sleds:

And a friend Josh demonstrates one of the crazier, but more fun slopes:

Pray for Us!

We've run into some issues with our visa application to get into Moscow-- so Beth and I are running off to D.C. tomorrow to get an additional passport needed.  We need it fast (within days), hence the going in person to Passport Services.

Sorry for the lack of posts;  we'll try to get you caught up on these past few weeks in the near future.  Training has been fantastic for the most part.  Keep us in your prayers!

Mouse at the Oscars

So myself, Beth, and Josh and Megan (the very same Karls from last post) decided to hunker down in a room and watch the Oscars.

We've been told that there are many a' mice roaming the countryside, and during the ceremonies were interrupted by a silhouette near the television.

Trip to Richmond!

During a free weekend, myself and Beth (along with friends Josh and Megan) made a trip to Richmond, Virginia.  It was a blast and we were able to learn a lot about the history of the U.S. of A.

Snow!

Hello again-- sorry it's been so long.  From about 8 in the morning till 4 or 5ish in the afternoon our days have been packed with sessions and training.  All of it has been very useful, but again it can be overwhelming.

We've had breaks from time to time, and some snow!

But zoom out a little....

It's the last remnant of snow on campus. :-(
Here's a little video:

In the near future we'll show off some pictures from our trip to Richmond!

We're Finally Here!

Well, just a couple days ago we made it to Richmond! After weeks of packing and moving things, we were finally able and ready to go!

Here's what a couple of our upstairs rooms looked like after all the packing:

This is our bedroom and the moment I knew that we were actually moving.

Everything we were going to take to Richmond.

And this is our "storage room."  Everything we're keeping in the states.  I don't feel that this picture adequately displays the vast amount of stuff in this room.
So now here we are in Richmond (or Rockville, to be exact).  For the next eight weeks we are going to go through massive amounts of training.  There are some awesome people here and I'm very excited about it all.
And here are some pictures of a snow we just had yesterday-- TAKE THAT MEREDITH!!
