Our Apartment!

Well, after over a week and calling four different internet providers, we finally have internet.  And it's FAST.  It's cheaper and faster than anything we've had in the states (not like that's a normal thing or anything, I think we just got lucky).

Anways, we went through several internet providers who said that they could wire us up, but they just didn't know when (weeks, or months even).  But finally we got to the bottom of things, and are up and running.

Here are some pictures of our apartment!  Video footage to come!!

No Internet!

Hey guys!

Sorry we haven't posted anything in so long..... our flat still doesn't have internet. :-(

We've been able to get on randomly and rarely, but it's been frustrating.  We've contacted three Internet providers, and all have been no help.  They don't know when they can come and get us connected.  It could be a week or MONTHS.

We'll be posting much more as soon as possible!

We're Here!

Well, we made it!

We are safe and sound in Russia.  Right now we have brief, crummy internet access, but we'll be up in full force soon!

Expect videos, photos, and all the details of what's going on here!

Friday's the Day!

Beth and I got a rather unexpected call today.

Our visas have just been issued and we are scheduled to fly to Moscow this Friday.  That's right, TWO days from now!

Needless to say we're quite rushed now that going overseas has become an actuality.

We'll post more asap!

Get Our Blogs Via E-mail!

As I have mentioned, this blog is still under a little bit of construction.  It's not quite where I want it yet.  But one cool feature I've added is the ability to receive our blog posts through e-mail!  It was a little complicated to set up, but all you have to do is submit your e-mail address in the box on the left.  Once you do that you'll be added to our own Google Group (Tim and Beth in Moscow.... once again).

From there you don't really have to do anything within the group--unless you want to that is, but you will receive all of our blog posts (and possibly prayer lists, etc.) by e-mail!

You know you want to!

Have a Fear of Flying?

Within the next few weeks, Beth and I will be making a 12+ hour flight from Atlanta to Frankfurt, Germany, and then from there to Moscow, Russia.  I don't really get nervous on flights, and neither does Beth.  But there are a lot of people who do.

If you're one of those people, I have some pretty relieving statistics on plane crashes, thanks to the How Stuff Works podcast:

  • You would need to fly on one airline flight every day for the next 35,000 years to be guaranteed to be in a plane crash.
  • From 1980 - 2000, out of 568 plane crashes, more than 90% of people on board survived
    • Of those there were 33 crashes in the air.  At that point, even 50% survived.

Hopefully this info will ease your phobia if you have it.

I admit-- I still get a little nervous upon takeoff or landing.
